Mitie colleagues’ nationwide clean-up
Gloves and shovels at the ready – it’s almost time for Mitie’s Big Spring Clean.
The popular annual event offers colleagues a chance to give back to the community by litter picking and tidying at sites across the country. Helping tackle the 2m pieces of rubbish dropped in the UK every day demonstrates Mitie’s commitment to social value and improving the areas in which we work.
Before springing into action for the 2025 clean-up, let’s look back at some of the most successful of the 80 get-togethers coordinated by Mitie last year.
Cornwall
Our team at HMS Raleigh combed the beautiful beaches of Kingsand and Cawsand, making sure the stretch of Cornish coast looked its best. After a hard day’s work in the sunshine, the team rounded things off with a well-earned ice-cream.

Sussex and Hampshire
BMW account teams showed dedication and plenty of drive at their litter picks. Business Services colleagues at Goodwood collected 10 bags of rubbish in just one hour. Meanwhile the Technical and Business Services teams at Farnborough tidied up road verges, bushes and pedestrian lanes.

Berkshire
The Haleon team held a successful clean-up in Maidenhead. A special mention for the most enthusiastic litter pickers: Andrew Gilmore, Alessandro Romao, Rebecca Mallinson and Paul Dunlop.

Devon
It was all hands-on deck when the HMS Drake team in Mitie Defence organised a clean at Wembury Beach near Plymouth. The large turnout provided a great opportunity for everyone to mix and get to know new people. This was a win for both Mitie colleagues and the local community, who benefitted from a beautiful, litter-free beach.

West Midlands
Mitie colleagues on our Amazon account in Coventry spent the day collecting litter, championed by Project Manager, Dean Palmer. Afterwards Dean said: “We had a very productive day, collected many bags of litter. A great team building day giving back to the community. The park ranger thanked us for our efforts.”
Look out for news on Mitie’s Big Spring Clean 2025 very soon.
